We have an exciting opportunity for an Internal Communications Advisor to join our Marketing & Communications team and play an important role in shaping the future of ISS. In the role, you'll be responsible for the development, implementation, and execution of our internal communications strategy. You'll create engaging content that drives buy-in, while working proactively with leaders and stakeholders to cultivate a culture of belonging and engagement across our workforce.

The successful candidate will managing communication activities that support our efforts to share our direction, strategies, plans, and programs. Your work will help build employee engagement and foster a strong sense of belonging within our organisation.

Key tasks include:

  • Develop and deliver engaging internal communication strategies that align with ISS Pacific’s vision, values, and goals.
  • Managing a dynamic communications calendar, balancing day-to-day business updates with key initiatives like HSEQ, wellbeing, and diversity & inclusion.
  • Create compelling content that keeps employees informed and inspired—think key business changes, major organisational news, people profiles, good news stories, business highlights and contract announcements, reward and recognition stories.
  • Collaborate with business leaders and teams as a trusted communications advisor, delivering clear, impactful messaging while fostering strong stakeholder relationships to enhance engagement and cultural connection.
  • Ensure messages reach the right people at the right time on the internal employee communication platform, email, newsletters, digital screens and through events.
  • Use digital tools ( photography/ video) to create content to enhance storytelling and engagement.
  • Own the printed employee newsletter, from content gathering and approvals to timely, high-quality delivery.
  • Measure and refine strategies using data-driven insights to maximise future impact of communications.

Minimum Criteria:

  • A tertiary qualification in Communications, Journalism, or a related field, with proven experience in internal communications, ideally within a complex organisation.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with a knack for crafting clear, engaging, and consistent copy for various internal communication platforms.
  • Strong visual communication skills with experience using platforms such as SharePoint, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and other digital communication tools.
  • A proactive and adaptable team player who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution, navigating complex reporting structures while remaining accountable for high-quality outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively, build strong relationships, and influence stakeholders at all levels of the business.
  • Experience as a trusted advisor providing communication expertise, coupled with strong analytical skills to measure campaign effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, adjusting to an evolving environment with a focus on delivering measurable results.
  • Previous Defence or military experience highly desirable
